Why Is Capitol Wrestling Running In Newark, NJ On Wrestlemania Morning?

Newark has always been mythical and magical to me. And because I live my life attempting to sustainably fit my mythical and magical dreams into the flow and positive energies of the universe, Newark’s drawn closer and closer to me with each successive turn of my existence. On April 7, 2019, Capitol Wrestling is running in Newark, New Jersey earlier in the same day as Wrestlemania is being held ten miles away. Because Newark is magical and Capitol is great, this is not as insane of a notion as one would suspect.

This all starts with The Fugees. They were my first truly absolute favorite rap group. Lauryn Hill, Prakazrel Michel, and Wyclef Jean repped hard for Newark, New Jersey. When I was 15 years old and the trio released their debut album Blunted on Reality, Newark seemed to be a million years away from my life.
